Personal support for everyday life
Younger Companions: Everyday Support on Equal Terms

Good everyday support is not defined by a companion’s age. What matters is whether the person feels comfortable and their wishes are respected. A younger companion may bring fresh conversation and help with simple digital tasks—while leaving decisions firmly in the older person’s hands.
Find a shared rhythm
Start with a conversation about what matters: a walk, cooking together, a shopping trip or help with a smartphone. The older person decides what they would like to do independently and where company or practical help would be welcome.
Respect and clear agreements
Reliable timings, privacy and a friendly approach help everyone feel at ease. Discuss tasks, boundaries and preferences openly. Working as equals also means being able to say no or change the plan at any time.
Build trust step by step
A first meeting can be short and informal. Afterwards, both people can consider whether the conversation, pace and kind of support feel right. Regular feedback makes it easier to adapt the arrangement.
Everyday support is not nursing care
AlltagsNah offers practical, non-medical help and companionship in daily life. Medical treatment and nursing services are separate; the scope of support should be clarified in advance.
